Biography

John Threadgill has over 35 years of experience in design, real estate development, and teaching. He received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. As a career urban designer and landscape architect, John has executed award-winning projects worldwide and been involved in complex design strategies for urban environments. His work includes a diverse range of projects, such as a steel mill site in Pittsburgh and a historic train station in Milan, Italy. In addition to his work as a developer, where he helped create signature residential mixed-use projects in New York and Atlanta, John is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Georgia and a certified LEED AP in Neighborhood Development. He served as an adjunct professor at Auburn University for four years, teaching courses in research, design, history, theory, and professional practice within the Master of Landscape Architecture and Master of Real Estate Development programs. Currently at Georgia Tech, he teaches in the Master of Real Estate Development and the Master of City and Regional Planning programs, focusing on the relationship between design and real estate development to create impactful spaces.
