Biography

John Tregoning's lab researches the immune response to vaccines and prevents respiratory infections. They focus on understanding how to prevent symptomatic respiratory infections through various in vivo and in vitro models of infection and vaccination during early life. Tregoning has developed models for studying respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), Influenza, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Acinetobacter baumannii, and non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae (ntHi). Additionally, he has contract research experience collaborating with biotech companies for pre-clinical vaccine assessments against RSV and influenza. Tregoning is also known for his science writing, having authored two popular science books: "Infectious" and "Live Forever," the latter of which has sold over 10,000 copies and received praise from the Guardian.
