Dr. John Vincent

Biography

Spanning a professional career of more than 40 years, John Vincent has extensive airline engineering maintenance experience including over 25 years in executive, general accountable airworthiness management roles in large airline Engineering Maintenance organizations. As an Aeronautical Engineer, he has worked in various areas such as airline technical services, structures systems, aircraft performance, fleet assessment, and aircraft acceptance/delivery roles. His experience includes senior engineering, maintenance, fleet development, safety, quality risk management roles, holding significant National Aviation Authority (CASA) approvals and leading Engineering Maintenance businesses for Air Pacific Fiji, Ansett Australia, and Qantas Airways Ltd Australia. His main career focal areas encompass business strategy, process improvement, change management, governance, regulatory compliance, operational safety systems, risk management, leadership development, employee engagement, and communication relationship management. At UNSW's School of Aviation, he offers a postgraduate course in Airworthiness of Transport Category Aircraft, and has held various leadership roles such as Board Director for Qantas Foundation Memorial Ltd from 2011 to 2023, serving as Chair from 2014 to 2021, and is a Past-President Councillor of the Royal Aeronautical Society Australian Division Inc since 2010.
