John Samuel Wiener is a general pediatric urologist and a Professor at Duke University, involved in both clinical practice and research in pediatric urology. His research interests are focused on the urologic management of neurogenic bladder, particularly in children with spina bifida, as well as the molecular biology involved in the development of genitourinary tract disorders. Dr. Wiener serves as the principal investigator for the Duke National Spina Bifida Patient Registry and has led Urologic Management projects for young children with spina bifida since 2011. Previously, he was the project director for the P50 Center for Undiagnosed Pediatric Urogenital Disorders. He has held national leadership positions in pediatric urology, including President of the Society for Fetal Urology and participation on the Executive Council of the Society for Pediatric Urology. His qualifications include a Medical Degree from Tulane University and multiple fellowships and residencies, including at Duke University. In addition to his clinical duties, he is also the Chief of Education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
