Dr. John Wise

Biography

John Wise is a Professor in the School of Physics at Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University in 2007 and has been a significant contributor to the field of computational astrophysics. His research interests primarily focus on star and galaxy formation, supernovae, and black hole evolution, using advanced numerical simulations on some of the world's largest supercomputers. His work aims to understand the complexities of the early universe and the processes that led to the formation of galaxies and their stars over billions of years. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Hubble Fellowship and the Dunn Family Professorship, acknowledging his excellence in research and teaching.
