Biography

Johnson Liu is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of New South Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine from Northwest & F University, and a PhD in Pharmacology from South China Agricultural University. His research focuses on cancer pharmacology, particularly in the areas of experimental therapeutics and targeted cancer therapy. He investigates drug transport mechanisms, chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, and the genetic polymorphisms associated with cancer risks. Liu is involved in the preclinical development of anticancer agents, including small molecules targeting Wnt signalling and various metal-based complexes. He aims to identify links between copper transporters, organic cation transporters, and neurotoxicity in relation to lung cancer risks, especially within the Chinese Han population. In addition, Liu teaches pharmacology and pharmaceutical science courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
