Biography

Jokum Lind Jensen is a lecturer at the University of Gothenburg's Metal Art Department located at HDK-Valand-Campus Steneby. Originally trained as an artist blacksmith at Hereford College of Art in the 1990s, he established his own company in 2000 specializing in the restoration of blacksmithing techniques. Jensen completed his BA and MA in Metal Art at the University of Gothenburg in 2014, focusing on research and development projects. His work includes collaborations with architects to explore aesthetic possibilities of integrating handmade forged elements into contemporary architecture, as well as investigating 17th-century decorative metalwork through partnerships with Craft Lab, which is part of the cultural conservation department at his university. He is also engaged with the Sloyd Council and has incorporated traditional repoussé techniques into modern contexts. Additionally, he runs a private company producing bespoke metalwork for private clientele.
