Dr. Jon Davis

Biography

Jon Davis is the Director of the Strand Group at King's College London. Prior to joining King's, he spent eighteen years at Queen Mary, University of London, where he served as the Director of the Mile End Group from 2004 to 2014, managing over 100 significant events over the course of a decade. His partnerships included key figures such as 10 Downing Street and HM Treasury. He has lectured on undergraduate and MA courses, including a special subject titled 'The Blair Government,' which earned him a nomination for the Higher Education’s Innovative Teacher award in 2010. Additionally, Davis held the position of Associate Director for Corporate Affairs at Queen Mary from 2008 to 2011, and he has a background in investment banking with JP Morgan and Banque Paribas Hambros Bank. His research focuses on Contemporary British History, a field he has studied since the 1960s, which led to the establishment of the Institute of Contemporary British History in 1985. This Institute was relocated to King's College London in 2010, evolving into the King’s Contemporary British History, which aims to expand this academic tradition and create a diverse educational environment.
