Biography

Jon Funk is a Continuing Lecturer at the UCLA Anderson School of Management where he teaches Management 295D (Business Plan Development). He serves on the Investment Committee for Anderson Venture Impact Partners and is a faculty advisor for Management 444 (Business Creation Capstone). In collaboration with Professor David Eisenmann from the UCLA Public School of Health, Funk co-authored the 2021 report titled 'A Market Assessment Study of National Health Security Preparedness Index'. Additionally, he advises A26, a student-led venture capital investment club. Funk founded Ocean Road Partners, a private investment firm that focuses on startup information technology companies in Southern California. He has been actively involved as the managing director of Allegis Capital, a venture capital firm, from 1996 to 2007, and was instrumental in opening its Santa Monica office. Funk directed successful investments in companies like Sandpiper Networks and Rent.com, achieving significant returns for shareholders. He was also a founding general partner at InterVen Partners and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
