Dr. Jon Grant

Biography

Jon Grant is a Professor at the University of Chicago in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. He has an extensive educational background including a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Michigan, a J.D. from Cornell University, an M.D. from Brown University, and an M.P.H. from Harvard University. He also completed his residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Grant is board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. His research focuses on addictive and impulsive compulsive disorders, sexual disorders, and neuropsychopharmacology, with an emphasis on therapeutic interventions and the neurocognitive correlates of impulsive-compulsive behavior. He has held significant research funding, including NIH grants for studies on cognitive-behavioral therapy in relation to pathological gambling and the effects of N-acetylcysteine in treating nicotine dependence.
