Dr. Jon Haber

Biography

Jon Haber is an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is an expert in helping businesses, organizations, and political candidates manage their reputations and respond to the evolving media and political landscape. Haber teaches Crisis Communications (DPI-896M) and has previously taught public affairs communications at Georgetown University. He has experience in personal branding and job hunting strategies. As the president of Cascade Strategy, Inc., a strategic communications consultancy based in Washington, DC, he collaborates with various companies, nonprofits, and government entities on issues related to strategic storytelling, crisis communications, and organizational management. Haber has a notable background having worked on five U.S. presidential campaigns and serving in the United States Senate under Senators Patrick Leahy, Dianne Feinstein, and Edward Kennedy. During the Clinton Administration, he was special counsel to the president of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). As the former CEO of the American Association for Justice, he played a key role in reframing debates on civil justice issues and led a major rebranding effort for the organization. Prior to his role at AAJ, he was a senior partner at FleishmanHillard, a leading public relations, public affairs, and marketing company, where he developed successful consulting practices for technology companies and nonprofits. Before his career in communications, he practiced law in San Francisco. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
