Biography

Jon McClure is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Mitchell E. Daniels Jr. School of Business at Purdue University. His research focuses on industrial organization, competition, and consumer behavior. He serves as a research affiliate at the Purdue University Research Center in Economics. Born in New York City and having moved to Singapore, he developed an interest in economics from a young age. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024. Prior to pursuing his PhD, McClure graduated from the Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 2015, where he gained foundational knowledge in economic theories and global affairs. He also gained practical experience working for Compass Lexecon in Washington D.C. for several years before starting his doctoral studies.
