Dr. Jonas Bach

Biography

Jonas Strandholdt Bach is an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University in the Department of Psychology and Behavioural Sciences, focusing on alcohol and drug research. He earned his Ph.D. in Anthropology, with a thesis titled 'Gellerups: Tense Encounters,' which investigated the transformation of disadvantaged housing estates. His research interests are centered around the areas of housing, consumption culture, society, and communication, particularly as they relate to alcohol and drug use. Over recent years, he has led various projects aimed at understanding the dynamics between intoxicated adolescents and their relationships, and how elderly substance users access health and care services. Bach has been involved in multiple collaborations and has presented his findings at various workshops and conferences, contributing a wealth of knowledge to the field of behavioral sciences and addiction research. His academic contributions also include media appearances discussing Danish alcohol policies and their impacts.
