Biography

Jonas Brunskog received his MSc in Civil Engineering in 1996 and PhD in Acoustics in 2002 from Lund Institute of Technology, Lund University, Sweden. He became Docent in Engineering Acoustics and is an Associate Professor in Acoustic Technology at the Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interests primarily focus on structural acoustics, building acoustics—especially periodic wood-based structures—and room acoustics, particularly absorptive materials aimed at improving classroom acoustics. Over the years, he has supervised seven PhD projects, with three completed and three ongoing. Brunskog has been active in various boards including the 'Department of Building Sciences' at Lund University, and the Swedish Acoustical Society from 2008 to 2013. He also contributes to teaching in acoustics with courses in architectural acoustics and sound conditions for live events. His work strongly aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
