Biography

Jonas Markström's PhD research focuses on dual-tasking motor control and anterior cruciate ligament injury. His research investigates sensorimotor control in sport-related contexts, particularly cognitive-motor dual-tasking, and how it affects performance in motor control. He is engaged in test development using 3D motion analysis to deepen the understanding of injury risk factors and conditions necessary for athletes' return to sport. His work is interdisciplinary, merging sports science, physiotherapy, biomechanics, statistics, and neurocognition. He serves as a member of the Editorial Board for the international scientific journal Electromyography and Kinesiology since 2020 and has held roles such as a local support person for proper handling of research data and chair of the Departmental Ethics Committee. Markström is also involved in research groups such as the Movement control Exercise neuromusculoskeletal health (MOVE) and U-Motion Laboratory Research Group.
