Dr. Jonathan Baker

Biography

Jonathan M. Baker is an assistant professor in the Chandra Family Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and holds the Advanced Micro Devices Chair in Computer Engineering. His research focus is on quantum computer architecture, particularly on practical execution of quantum error correction, while also encompassing interests across the entire quantum computing stack including compilation, synthesis, multi-radix architectures, and error mitigation. Before joining the University of Texas, he worked as a research scientist at the Duke Quantum Center, where he contributed to various projects and initiatives in quantum computing. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Baker's work aims to push the boundaries of quantum computing technology, making significant strides in developing robust and efficient quantum systems.
