Dr. Jonathan Cardella

Biography

Jonathan Cardella, MD, FRCS, is an Associate Professor of Surgery with expertise in vascular endovascular surgery at Yale University. He specializes in advanced endovascular and open surgery for critical limb ischemia and diabetic atherosclerotic disease. With extensive experience in complex endovascular surgeries, including aortic aneurysms and lower extremity occlusive disease, he employs hybrid surgical techniques for peripheral vascular disease, varicose veins, and dialysis access. Dr. Cardella completed his medical degree at the University of Toronto, followed by endovascular surgery training at Cleveland Clinic and vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto. His research interests focus on surgical education, simulation, course design, and milestone skill training. Dr. Cardella has written numerous publications and has been actively involved in teaching and mentoring. He has chaired the Canadian Endovascular Skills Summit and contributed to various residency committees, demonstrating his commitment to advancing surgical education.
