Jonathan Chee is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Respiratory Health, University of Western Australia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Melbourne and later completed his PhD at St Vincent’s Institute in Melbourne, where he studied the development and function of islet-specific T cells in autoimmune diabetes. Following his PhD, he joined the National Centre of Asbestos Related Disease (NCARD) in November 2014, and he is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Cancer Council Western Australia. He aims to utilize this knowledge to develop novel therapies and accurate predictors of treatment outcomes. His current projects involve the integration of mathematics in T cell receptor sequencing to understand how an individual's immune system contributes to therapy success, the development of preclinical models, and the investigation into why patients develop severe autoimmunity in response to cancer immunotherapy. In addition, he supervises PhD and Honours students and lectures on Tumour Immunology.
