Dr. Jonathan Davidson

Biography

Jonathan R.T. Davidson is a Professor Emeritus at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University. His current research focuses on the theoretical aspects of homeopathy and its clinical utilization within the broader field of alternative medicine, an area often overlooked as a legitimate scientific discipline. He has extensive experience in clinical treatment, epidemiology, risk factors, and the pathogenesis of post-traumatic stress, social phobia, anxiety disorders, and depression. His work is illustrated through recent publications examining the epidemiology and health service utilization related to social phobia and PTSD, as well as drug treatments for panic disorder. He has conducted magnetic resonance studies on social phobia and is planning further studies. Davidson earned his M.D. from University College London in 1967 and has been awarded multiple research grants from the National Institutes of Health and other institutions to explore various psychological interventions and pharmacotherapy approaches, particularly in anxiety and depressive disorders.
