Biography

Jonathan Ellman is a Eugene Higgins Professor of Chemistry at Yale University, where he also holds a position in the Department of Pharmacology. He received his B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. degree from Harvard University. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California at Berkeley and subsequently joined the faculty there. Before joining Yale, he was a professor in the Department of Chemistry at UC Berkeley and held a joint position in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology at UC San Francisco. Ellman has published over 350 research articles focused on applications of chemistry in biomedical research.
