Biography

Jonathan L. Hansen, M.D., M.B.A., is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He serves as the clinical director and vice-chair at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Emergency Department. Dr. Hansen completed his medical education at Sidney Kimmel Medical College in 2001 and finished his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2004. He joined MedStar Emergency Physicians and served as the department chair at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center for seven years. His contributions to the field have been recognized by Baltimore Magazine, which named him a 'Top Doctor' in Emergency Medicine multiple times between 2013 and 2021. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Hansen holds an M.B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and has held leadership roles within the organization, including serving as a Councilor and Lead Councilor for the Maryland Chapter. His research interests focus on Emergency Medicine, reimbursement, licensing and credentialing, as well as working with advanced practice providers.
