Biography

Jonathan Ichikawa is a Professor at the University of British Columbia's Department of Philosophy. He obtained his PhD from Rutgers University in 2008, an MA from Brown University in 2005, and a BA from Rice University in 2003. His research interests include epistemology, philosophy of language, feminist philosophy, and ethics, particularly concerning the interplay between theoretical questions about knowledge and moral and political issues like structural oppression and rape culture. Ichikawa's latest book, 'Epistemic Courage', was published in 2024 by Oxford University Press. Ichikawa has a strong commitment to teaching, offering foundational courses in formal logic and advanced seminars in epistemology. He actively supervises graduate students in both PhD and MA programs, providing guidance on their research and academic development.
