Biography

Jonathan Kurtis is a Professor in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Executive Director of the MD-PhD Program at Brown University. His work is focused on understanding the immune responses that contribute to natural resistance to these diseases in endemic populations, and he has conducted extensive longitudinal studies on the immuno-epidemiology of malaria. Additionally, he has led studies on schistosomiasis immunity and has collaborated on a variety of international research initiatives. Kurtis is an experienced researcher with numerous publications in prestigious journals including Science, and he is recognized for his contributions to the fields of malaria pathogenesis and global health.
