Biography

Jonathan Mant is a Professor of Primary Care Research at the University of Cambridge, specializing in the evaluation of interventions for diagnostic tests related to cardiovascular diseases, particularly focused on atrial fibrillation, stroke, hypertension, and heart failure. He has served as the Head of the Primary Care Unit in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care from 2013 to 2021 and is an appointed NIHR Senior Investigator since April 2015. In 2023, he became an Emeritus NIHR Senior Investigator. Jonathan also holds the position of honorary consultant at the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities in the Department of Health and Social Care and was appointed a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2018. Currently, he leads the Screening Atrial Fibrillation ECG Reduce stroke (SAFER) programme and co-leads the Primary Breathe programme and the post-stroke COMBAT fatigue programme. His extensive research focuses on improving health outcomes through advanced primary care initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration.
