Dr. Jonathan Piccini

Biography

Jonathan P. Piccini, MD, MHS, FACC, FAHA, FHRS, is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist and Professor of Medicine at Duke University. He serves as the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Section and holds a position in Population Health Sciences at Duke Clinical Research Institute. His area of expertise lies in the care of patients with atrial fibrillation and complex arrhythmias, with a particular focus on catheter ablation, pacing, and lead extraction. His research interests include the development and evaluation of innovative cardiovascular interventions for treating heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Piccini has published over 600 papers in the field of heart rhythm medicine and has received numerous teaching and mentorship awards. He is actively involved in professional societies, serving on the Board of Trustees for the Heart Rhythm Society and as an Associate Editor for JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology. He completed his Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Duke University and has received advanced training in cardiology and internal medicine at prestigious institutions including Johns Hopkins University.
