Dr. Jonathan Quong

Biography

Jonathan Quong is a Professor of Philosophy at USC Dornsife. He earned his D.Phil. from Nuffield College, Oxford in 2004, and previously taught at the University of Manchester from 2003 to 2013. He has held visiting positions at prestigious institutions such as the Australian National University, Princeton University, and Tulane University. Quong has made significant contributions to the field of moral and political philosophy, serving as an associate editor for various journals including Free & Equal: Journal of Ethics and Public Affairs, and has been involved in editorial work for Philosophy & Public Affairs for over eight years. His research includes areas such as political legitimacy, moral defense theories, and ethical considerations surrounding justice and equality. His forthcoming book from Princeton University Press, titled 'Political Philosophy: The Puzzle of Legitimate Injustice', showcases his deep engagement with complex philosophical questions. Quong publishes extensively, with articles in top-tier journals demonstrating his focus on contemporary philosophical debates.
