Jonathan Singerton is an Assistant Professor of Global Political History at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specializing in global history with a focus on Habsburg lands, Central Europe during the early modern period, and the early twentieth century. Singerton's work has received significant recognition, including the Liechtenstein Prize for Outstanding Research in 2023. He has held fellowships in both Austria and the United States and has lectured at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Innsbruck. In 2018, he obtained his PhD from the University of Edinburgh, winning multiple awards for his dissertation. He is currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of History in the United Kingdom and is set to join the Board of Advisors for the Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies.
