Biography

Jonathan Soeharno is a full professor with expertise in administration of justice and legal philosophy at the University of Amsterdam since 2012. He holds multiple degrees in law (PhD, LLM, LLB), theology (MA, BA), and philosophy (MA, BA). His work primarily focuses on rule of law, ethics, and integrity, supported by a strong foundation in institutional theory and virtue ethics. In addition, Soeharno has conducted rule of law projects in countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Suriname, Curacao, and Indonesia. His commitment to legal ethics is evident in his various roles, including serving as a member of the Disciplinary Court for Lawyers and the Dutch Code of Conduct for Lawyers revision committee. He chairs the Academic Integrity Committee at the Dutch Research Council and has previously served as chair of the UvA Committee on Scientific Integrity. His engagement extends to the advisory boards of various legal and academic organizations and he is recognized for his contributions to the field of scientific integrity.
