Biography

Jonathan O. Swanson, MD joined the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in October 2019 as a Professor in the Pediatric Radiology Section. He has transitioned from his previous role as Associate Professor and Section Chief of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Hailing from Wisconsin, Swanson earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Duke University. He completed his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. In Seattle, he undertook his internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center and completed his residency and fellowship in pediatric radiology at the University of Washington Medical School and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Swanson has authored numerous publications and book chapters in the field of pediatric radiology and clinical practice medicine and has received grant support for various national and international radiological research initiatives. His clinical interests encompass pediatric thoracic imaging, radiology interventions, global health, radiology education, and enhancing the role of radiology in patient care.
