Biography

Jonathan Terry is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Graduate School in the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, where he has been a faculty member since early 1999. He initially joined as a Post-doctoral Research Associate and became a Chancellor’s Fellow. His teaching responsibilities span undergraduate courses for first, third, and fourth-year students as well as a Master’s program in Electronics. Terry's research focuses on the development of smart sensor systems, leveraging advanced fabrication technologies available at the Scottish Microelectronics Centre. His work encompasses various domains including physical, biological, chemical, medical, and astronomical applications, particularly in harsh environments. Over the years, he has authored numerous patents and publications in journals and conferences. His recent research projects include the IMPACT initiative on Implantable Microsystems for Personalized Anti-Cancer Therapy, and studies on Phase Transitions in Leidenfrost Engine, as well as the EMBOSS project regarding Enhanced Multiscale Boiling Surfaces.
