Biography

Jonathan Weaver-Rosen is an Instructional Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, which he completed in 2021, following a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering awarded in 2017. His academic focus is on design theory methodology, computational methods, design optimization, and engineering education. Weaver-Rosen has received several accolades for his contributions to teaching and engineering education, including the Peggy L. & Charles Brittan ’65 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2024 and the J. Mike Walker '66 Impact Award in 2020 from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He also received recognition for his work presented at the ASME IDETC Conference, where he was awarded the DAC Paper Distinction for his publication on efficient parametric optimization of expensive single objective problems. As an integral part of the Texas A&M community, Weaver-Rosen contributes to both academic and local professional engineering societies and aims to enhance engineering education methodologies.
