Biography

Dr. Ang currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, a Master of Science in Technology Management from the National University of Singapore, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow. He is the current President of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Singapore (SNAMES) and a member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects (RINA) in the UK. His research focuses on various aspects of naval architecture, including ship system design, alternate fuel vessels, hull form design and optimization, maritime decarbonization, sustainability, and digitalization within the maritime sector. Dr. Ang has extensive corporate experience, having been the Assistant Vice President of Technology and New Product Development at Seatrium from 2001 to 2025.
