Biography

Joost joined the Department of Precision and Microsystems Engineering (PME) at the University of Twente as a part-time professor on March 10, 2020. He concurrently serves as a Science Officer at Bronkhorst High-Tech B.V. in Ruurlo, a leading company in the field of low flow handling systems, and is a partner in the NERI program. Furthermore, Joost is involved in co-supervising the iMicrofluidics project, which is sponsored by Bronkhorst TKI, collaborating with PhD students Gürhan Özkayar, Murali Ghatkesar, and Marcel Tichem. His future endeavors include enhancing microfluidic activities connected to healthcare applications such as organ-on-chip technologies, while also involving multi-scale, multi-material manufacturing and computational design optimization.
