Biography

Jordan Anderson served as Principal Bass for both the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and Seattle Opera starting in fall 2000. In 2015, he took on the role of Principal Bass at the Bellingham Festival Music Orchestra. He has soloed with the Seattle Symphony, Cascade Symphony Orchestra, and the Seattle Chamber Orchestra. Notably, in April 2013, Anderson performed a composition titled Traction Solo Double Bass as part of the Seattle Symphony’s new-music series. In November 2007, he delivered the Washington State premiere of John Harbison’s Concerto for Bass Viol with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Anderson is also known for his participation in various music festivals, frequently performing with the Seattle Chamber Music Society during both summer and winter sessions. His teaching and passion for music are evident through his numerous recitals and master classes across the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied under Harold Robinson, the Principal Bass of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
