Biography

Jordan graduated from the University of Surrey in 2008 with a BMus (Tonmeister) in Music Sound Recording. In 2009, he received an MSc in Sound Vibration from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) at the University of Southampton, where he focused on designing directional loudspeakers for mobile devices. He conducted his doctoral research in the Signal Processing Control group at ISVR, specializing in active control of the acoustic environment within automobile cabins, which was funded by the Green City Car Project under the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme. He was awarded a PhD in 2012 and subsequently worked as a Research Fellow in Active Control at ISVR, before being promoted to Senior Research Fellow in 2015. He became a New Frontiers Fellow in the same year, followed by promotions to Lecturer in 2017, Associate Professor in 2019, and Full Professor in 2023. In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious 5-year Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair focusing on Smart Acoustic Control Technologies.
