Dr. Jordan Pober

Biography

Jordan Pober is a distinguished professor at the Yale School of Medicine, focusing on immunobiology and pathology. He graduated summa cum laude from Haverford College in 1971 and obtained his MD and PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University in 1977. After completing his residency in pathology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, he continued his training as a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University. Pober has held various academic positions, including being the Vice-Chair of the Department of Immunobiology and Director of the Human Translational Immunology Program. His research centers on understanding the interaction between blood vessels, vascular cells, and immune responses, particularly how inflammation affects vascular health. He has collaborated on numerous publications and has received several prestigious awards, including the Rous Whipple Award and the Earl Benditt Award. Pober's work is instrumental in developing novel therapies to improve clinical transplantation and tissue engineering outcomes.
