Dr. Jordan Richards

Biography

Jordan Richards is a Lecturer in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. He specializes in extreme value theory, spatial statistics, and statistical machine learning, with applications in environmental climate science. Jordan completed his PhD in Statistics and Operational Research at Lancaster University in 2021, where he developed a strong foundation in statistical methodologies and their practical implications. Following his doctoral studies, he undertook a postdoctoral fellowship in Statistics at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, where he continued to expand his research in statistical applications in environmental contexts. His academic contributions include a variety of publications that examine the intersections of statistical theory and real-world climate challenges. He is actively engaged in research that aims to leverage statistical learning techniques to enhance understanding of climate phenomena and to provide actionable insights into environmental issues.
