Biography

Jordan Tustin is an Associate Professor in the School of Occupational and Public Health at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Honours Biology from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Public Health and Safety from TMU, as well as a Master of Health Science and a PhD in Epidemiology from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. As a CIHR public health policy fellow and a certified public health inspector, he has extensive experience working as a field epidemiologist at local, provincial, national, and international levels. Tustin has contributed significantly to public health in Canada and abroad, conducting investigations into outbreaks, including foodborne and waterborne illnesses, and vaccine-related adverse events. He has worked on key public health responses, such as the Ebola epidemic in Guinea and the H1N1 pandemic in Mexico. His main research interests are in communicable disease epidemiology, field epidemiology, vaccinology, global health, and health communication. Tustin has received numerous awards, including the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions to public health.
