Biography

Jordana Viotto joined the University of Edinburgh Business School as a Lecturer in August 2019. Her research primarily focuses on convergence entrepreneurship, innovation, and the economics of digital platforms. She examines critical questions including how entrepreneurs use digital platforms to test ideas, co-create value in online communities, and the impact of digital technology on access to entrepreneurial finance. Jordana is particularly interested in the strategies that digital platforms adopt and how they affect various participants, such as small businesses and content providers. She teaches courses that emphasize real-world applications and adapts them to meet the evolving demands of businesses and society. Jordana has received Excellence Teaching Awards for the courses she organizes and teaches, including 'The Entrepreneurial Manager' and 'Digital Business'. Prior to her current role, she completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Paris-Dauphine under the Governance Regulation Chair, and earned her PhD in Economics from the University Sorbonne Paris-Nord and Telecom Paris.
