Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Jordi Alastruey. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Jordi Alastruey graduated with an MSc in Civil Engineering (Structures) from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and earned a PhD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London. His PhD thesis focused on the development, validation, and application of a nonlinear one-dimensional model for pulse wave propagation in the arterial network. After conducting postdoctoral research in computational blood flow modeling in the Departments of Aeronautics and Bioengineering at Imperial, he was awarded a research fellowship by the British Heart Foundation in 2009. He moved to King's College London in 2011 where he currently leads the Haemodynamic Modelling Research Group. The group specializes in cardiovascular haemodynamics, focusing on developing models that simulate pulse wave signals under physiological and pathophysiological conditions, as well as methods for calibrating these models to understand the underlying physical mechanisms. His work aids clinical decision-making and has resulted in numerous contributions to peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
Requirements are consistent across King's Business School and Social Science & Public Policy departments for standard Master's entries.
