Biography

Jörg Ott studied computer science at TU Berlin and industrial engineering at TFH Berlin. He received his PhD in engineering (Dr.-Ing.) in 1997 from TU Berlin. He began his academic career as an assistant professor at the University of Bremen before joining the Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) in 2005 and Aalto University in 2010, where he held a professorship in networking technology, focusing on networked services software in the School of Electrical Engineering. In 2015, he became a professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he chairs the newly established Chair of Connected Mobility. Throughout his career, Ott has co-founded four companies and has been an active contributor to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) since 1993.
