Biography

Jörg Seifert is an Associate Professor in Modern Languages at the University of Warwick. He studied German Philology and Music at Ernst Moritz Arndt University Greifswald, and continued his studies at Humboldt University and Freie Universität Berlin. After serving as a Teaching Assistant at Bury Grammar School, he completed his MA with Distinction in Recent Trends in German Literature at Nottingham University. Seifert worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Nottingham University, then moved to Manchester to work as a Lektor at the University of Manchester Institute for Science and Technology (UMIST), developing a keen interest in translation and translation studies. He holds a Diploma in Translation Studies and an MSc with Distinction. Since 2003, he has served as the Subject Leader for the German Language Centre at Warwick University, teaching a variety of courses, including specialist subjects like German Historians, as well as non-specialist courses. Over the past years, he has been involved in setting up online collaboration projects with students from Medienhochschule Stuttgart and the University of Potsdam. He is also currently an external examiner at Sheffield University and an examiner for the UNILANG certification scheme.
