Biography

Jorge Gil is an Associate Professor in Urban Design Planning at Chalmers University of Technology. His primary research focus is on the conceptualization and development of integrated urban models that facilitate applied digital urban planning research practices in the context of Smart Cities. His work investigates the use of City Information Modelling and Urban Digital Twins, emphasizing the application of these models in domains such as sustainable mobility for people and goods, social inclusion, liveability, energy transition, and circular economy. He develops Geographic Information System (GIS) geo-database solutions with a user-centered approach, employing spatial analysis, network analysis, and machine learning visualization methods.
