Jorge Laval is a Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He obtained his B.S. in Civil Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in 1995, his M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001, and his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004. He serves on the editorial board for Transportation Research Part B and has research interests in traffic flow theory, numerical solution methods for simulation of traffic flow models, queueing theory, and dynamic congestion pricing.
