Dr. Jørn Sonnergaard

Biography

Jørn Sonnergaard is an Associate Professor emeritus at the Royal School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. His academic journey began as a PhD student at the Royal School of Pharmacy in 1974, followed by various roles including Assistant Professor and eventually Associate Professor. Over the years, he has developed a reputation for his expertise in the field of Pharmaceutics and Analytical Chemistry. His primary research interests lie in the compaction of powders, focusing on the mathematical characterization of force-displacement profiles, dynamic conditions, and the mechanical strength of compacts (compactibility). He has contributed to significant scholarly discussions about compressibility and compactability in pharmaceutical processes and has presented his findings in multiple academic forums. His dedication to both research and teaching has made him a respected figure in the academic community.
