Biography

Jos Brouwers is a Full Professor and Chair of Building Materials at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on the advancement and diffusion of knowledge regarding sustainable and functional building materials. His current interests include sustainable building materials, energy, and water; granular mix design for concrete/mortar rheology including self-compacting concrete and soil grouts; and microstructure and pore water chemistry related to various cementitious materials like slag and fly ash. He also investigates the treatment of contaminated soils and the transport properties and durability of cement-based materials. With a strong background in Mechanical Engineering (MSc) and Technical Sciences (PhD) from TU/e, Jos has previously served as a Research Engineer and Project Leader at Akzo Nobel and as an Associate Professor at the University of Twente. He is a guest professor at Wuhan University of Technology in China, contributing to the field of sustainable building materials. Jos is also involved in editorial activities and project proposal reviews in the academic sector.
