Biography

Jos H. Weber was born in Schiedam, Netherlands, in 1961. He earned his M.Sc. in Mathematics with honors in 1985 from Delft University of Technology, followed by his Ph.D. in 1989 and a Master of Business Telecommunications (MBT) degree in 1996 from the same institution. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Currently, he is an associate professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at Delft University of Technology. His professional contributions include chairing the Working Group for Information and Communication Theory from 2006 to 2021 and serving as the secretary of the IEEE Benelux Chapter for Information Theory since 2008. He has also participated as a visiting researcher at prestigious institutions such as the University of California, Davis, the Tokyo Institute of Technology, the University of Johannesburg, EPFL in Switzerland, and SUTD in Singapore. His main research interests encompass constrained error control codes, DNA-based data storage, and balanced codes.
