Rodolpho received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, in 2011, focusing on unconventional machining processes for his final year project. In 2016, he earned his PhD in Materials Engineering from The Open University, UK, with a thesis on creep and anelastic recovery of steels for potential applications in advanced nuclear reactors. Rodolpho’s research primarily involves Materials Engineering and Manufacturing Processes as well as pedagogical research examining modern engineering curriculum structures and teaching practices. He joined the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick in May 2023, having previously lectured at Coventry University for eight years, where he developed and led various modules in Mechanics and Manufacturing within the Electromechanical Engineering degree program. In addition, Rodolpho has extensive experience as a consulting engineer in the industrial sectors of mining, steelmaking, oil and gas, and energy. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), and has achieved the status of Chartered Engineer (CEng).
