Biography

Jose Gomez-Lemus is an Associate Professor and Medical Director of the Master of Clinical Science in Physician Assistant Program at Western University. He graduated with an MD from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. His clinical practice focuses on genitourinary and breast pathology, where he reports on biopsies and surgical specimens. He also reviews consultation cases for pathologists both in Canada and internationally and actively participates in interdisciplinary patient management conferences. In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Gomez-Lemus is involved in educational activities, teaching pathology specimen study and dissection (grossing), and developing templated approaches for gross description to improve efficiency in the Gross Room. His research interests include testicular tumors and prostate cancer, particularly the correlation between prostatectomy specimens and imaging modalities to optimize pre-operative diagnosis and biopsy protocols.
