Biography

Jose Miguel Juarez, MD, is an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone Health, committed to delivering compassionate and efficient high-quality care to patients. He specializes in managing cardiovascular emergencies and critical care, utilizing advanced point-of-care ultrasound techniques. With years of experience honed through emergency medical services and clinical research, he is an American Heart Association instructor for basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. Dr. Juarez's research primarily focuses on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and resuscitative transesophageal echocardiography, working to enhance patient outcomes in emergency medicine. His academic journey began as a disaster response dispatcher for the American Red Cross, which ignited his passion for serving the community and pursuing a career in emergency medicine. He completed his fellowship in emergency medicine ultrasound at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and holds an MD from the University of Pittsburgh. His diverse experience enables him to contribute meaningfully to the goals of his department and the broader community.
